National Day of Exile and Deportation 2020

La Jonquera - La Vajol

On the occasion of National Exile and Deportation Day, instituted on February 5 as a commemorative date for republican exile by the Generalitat of Catalonia in 2017, they will take place on the morning of February 8 at the MUME de la Jonquera and at the Coll de Lli de La Vajol several events in memory of the 1939 republican exile.

The MUME will open the exhibition "Art and Exile. Artists of the Catalan Exile of 1939", on the legends Fàbrega and Narro of the Museum of the Empordà and the MUME.

In La Vajol a commemorative march will take place until the Coll de Lli, place of passage of the republican authorities on February 5, 1939.

PROGRAM:

11am Start of the ascent to the Coll de Lli from the road from La Vajol to the Sanctuary of Les Salines (GI-505).

11h30. Presentation of the event by the journalist and writer Martí Gironell and reading of texts by Carles Pi i Sunyer and Pere Bosch-Gimpera and musical listening by Anna Ros (cello) and Mercè Miró (flute flute) with the presence of the Minister of Justice Ester Capella.

1pm Opening of the exhibition "Art and exile. Catalan artists of exile in 1939", a joint exhibition with double headquarters, with the Museum of the Empordà in Figueres.

Institutional parliaments (Alfons Quera, Alfons Martínez, Sònia Martínez and Ester Capella).

1:30 p.m. Guided tour of the exhibition by the exhibition's curator, Enric Pujol.

2:30 p.m. Lunch
